Mr. Greenjeans

When the current issue of Knitty.com was posted a certain sweater caught my eye. Not only did it catch my eye it blasted me right back into the 1970's. The sweater is none other than the cute and stylish Mr. Greenjeans. I raced through the designers notes on the pattern thinking she must be around the same age as me and surely the sweater was named after the actor Hugh "Lumpy" Brannum. Who the heck is that you ask? Hugh aka Mr. Green Jeans was the right hand man to Captain Kangaroo (played by Bob Keeshan) on the popular television show, Captain Kangaroo. Sadly the sweater was not designed with a TV show in mind........but for me it sure was a great ride through time.

I am enjoying knitting this sweater so much that I could see myself knitting it again. That is very rare for me. I am using Cascade 220 Hand Painted yarn in colorway # 9922 - David's Eyes. You can just barely make out where I have started the cabling at the bottom of the sweater. The lower picture is a bit darker but shows a small glimpse of a cable peeking through.

Norovember

Ladies and Gents get your Noro lovin' butts on over to Minxknits to sign yourselves up for Norovember! This is a knit-a-long that has only one rule: use Noro yarns! Knit what you like, at your own pace, but you must use Noro yarn. I am going to be knitting The Einstein Coat by Sally Melville using $$Kochoran$$.......Yes the dollar signs are a plenty. However, I have seen the coat knit up in this and it was Fabulous with a capital "F"!

The Breakup

Dear Halloween Mystery Bag,

We need to talk. I have been doing a lot of thinking and I just don't think this is going to work out between us. I tried really I did. I adjusted needle size, I messed with the colors, and I even ripped and started over again. I just think at this time it would be best if we went our separate ways. Please don't think Rowan, Noro, or Malabrigo put me up to this. It has nothing to do with them.

Trust me when I say........

It's not you....it's me.
