I used to think that completing a project was the hardest part. Boy was I wrong. It's the shopping for the buttons that really takes the wind out of your sails. I have spent months looking for the perfect buttons for Juliet. I thought I finally found the perfect buttons and purchased them. The problem was they are too small and get lost on the field of garter stitch. I finally caved in and purchased some perfect sized dark teal buttons the other day. I don't love them but I don't hate them. In the first picture it looks like they are the same color of Juliet but they are darker in person. I might use them as a base button and sew a smaller button of a different color into the center. Either way they are getting sewn on and I am sticking a fork in it.

If I have a problem finding buttons of the same color, then I turn to either wooden or metal buttons of some sort instead. I can usually find some sort of scrollwork or other design in metal that works.
Don't settle! It is akin to not fixing a mistake...you carry it with you (though it is easier to amend).
I had no idea that buttons could be that vexing! (I sound old, vexing...) I wouldn't know since I never finish a project. hahahah!!!! Actually I'm kindof bummin' that I just figured out that truth... Hmmmm
Sometimes getting it finished is what works. Then maybe the right button will appear. Buttons are easy to replace.
Since you asked! Or did you?
ooh I love the double button idea. These look nice though.
