Death of a Slipper

Well, it finally happened. My slippers aka. felted clogs kicked the bucket. They had been on their way out for quite some time.

While watching a movie last night I noticed something strange.

Have a look....

This little piggy went to market!

You can see how worn the bottoms had become. In one spot you could see clear through to the other side!

Poor ugly slippers. I am going to miss you.

Aw, too bad. You got your knitting's worth out of them. How old were they?

A moment of silence.......

Now on to the positive side of life, at least that's a quick pattern to knit up a replacement pair.

like the velveteen rabbit, they're loved so much they got a little ugly. (Happens to us women too, doesn't it? unfortunate.)

Oh, slippers, you look like you rocked the house! Is there a theme here (see Stacey's comments from me). I saw many concerts in the past three days and hope to write about it tomorrow. Those slippers looked so faithful. What color next?

You know if you wanted to resurrect them Syl's got some leather soles. Unless you are all about the next pair, then disregard my statement.
