Sad Day in Knitsville

We all know that knitting can be a very cruel mistress at times. Today she was just a real bitch!! I finished my Juliet sweater two days ago. Last night I had the time to sit and start weaving in the ends. That is when I came across the problem. When I was knitting the sweater I came to a knot in the yarn right on the boob section. There is no way I could have hid it, so I was forced to cut the yarn and rejoin with a clean section. This would be the death of Juliet. Last night I was having trouble weaving in the ends on that spot. It looked horrible. I kept fiddling with it and managed to make it look even worse. I decided to have my friend Jen take a look at it. I knew if anybody could fix it......she could. So I went down to her yarn shop and handed over Juliet. My very good friend Jen who I LOVE.....operated on Juliet for two and a half hours. Did I mention that I LOVE her!!! THANKS JEN!!! I knew it wasn't going to be good when I heard things like....."What the hell!?" and "How did the stitches get turned sideways!?" OOoohhhhhh my poor Juliet. Jen worked on her and worked on her. The news is not good my friends. We are going to have to rip rip rip.

Here are some pictures of me smiling and modeling my beautiful Juliet. This was before I knew there was a problem. Isn't she pretty? I love the color.

R.I.P Juliet

So this is by no means good bye. I am tossing her in the frog pond tonight and should have her cast on in time for Stitch N' Bitch tomorrow night at Purls of Wisdom.
Stay tuned for the new and improved Juliet.

what yarn are you using? If its a wool yarn I would split splice or do a russian join for the ends of balls and that way you should get a pretty flawless join and also less ends to sew and more yarn to use hehee

thats a very very pretty colour whats it called?? Its such a shame you had to frog, I feel your pain

Oh no!! I'm so sorry you have to RIP it :( I'm glad you're going to knit it again, though, because it looks great on you!

It looks great on you and the color is fab!!!! This is a lesson I learned a long time ago, never rejoin anywhere but on the beginning of the next row. But I know I don't have to tell you now. I also learned the hard way. But I'm glad you are reknitting it because it looks terrific on you. Love MOM

oh no! Look at the bright side - she's a quick knit - and you do look awesome in it, so you have the carrot already on the proverbial stick. I love that your Mom comments on your blog!!

when does the yarn tour begin?

Ohhhh I'm so sorry about that. You have to re-knit it right away. It's beautiful on you! (But, I'll tell you what...I'd be crying, myself, since I knit at the speed of a snail...)

I would have cried, I would have sat down and cried and then had a funeral for Juliet.
